Annual Kids Fishing Derby

The annual kids fishing derby is Saturday April 26th at Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley. Check-in starts at 8:30 Fishing begins at 9am and goes until noon. THere is a free lunch after the derby and there is prizes in each age group for the heaviest catch, and most fish caught! It is a great time for the kids, the age groups are 5 and under, 6-8, and 9-12 i believe. Parents(adults) can help kids bait hooks, and cast, the children have to reel in the fish. the creek is open after the derby for anyone to fish. This is a great time to be had by all, there was 150 kids total last year which exceeded there hopes. Prizes are made available thanks to local businesses sponsoring.
