I am so excited to announce that Ladyfest Nevada County kicks off BreastCancer Awareness Month with its first ever one-day festival on Saturday,October 4, 2008, at the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley, CA, from 9am to6pm.Over 30 fabulous women from Nevada County will lead workshops in art, music,theatre, dance and more. Also included is an empowering workshop on BreastCancer Prevention and a round table multi media group discussion with womenwriters, journalists and filmmakers who are telling the stories of theircommunities. An evening concert with an array of local and regional femalemusicians will end the day.Ladyfest aims to provide a platform for a variety of arts disciplines whilecreating a space for the women in our community to meet, network, andexplore ideas on how to work together on one another¹s projects andstrengthen our community. Ladyfest is a benefit for a variety of localbreast cancer awareness organizations.Check out our blog and myspace pages!!!

Doors 8:30am, Workshops begin 9am and run to 6pm. Concert doors 7pm, show7:30pm. Tickets are available through the Center for the Arts box office.$15 adv/$18 door for workshops only. $25 advance/$30 door for workshops andconcert. $12 adv/$15 door for concert only. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!Please help with spreading the word about this event by emailing theenclosed invite to folks on your email newsletter, and of course to friends,family and co-workers.We also need volunteers to work 2hr shifts at the festival.
