Aikido'Ka 2nd Anniversary & FREE Self-Defense Day APRIL 4, 2009

Aikido'Ka 2nd Anniversary and Free Self-Defense DayApril 4, 2009
Come and join in the activities at Aikido'Ka all day on April 4! The events are free to all. As you probably know by now, a key aspect of our training at Aikido'Ka is community service. As aikidoists, we are peaceful warriors for ourselves, our families and communities. As such, we have a duty to serve. At Aikido'Ka, we put our duty to serve into action through Project Based Leadership Training (PBLT). When our students, individually or as a class, plan and carry out service projects, they grow their character and become real leaders in the community.Everyone at Aikido'Ka performs community service projects. Frank Bloksberg Sensei, as part of his 18-month-long Ultimate Black Belt test (for his next level black belt), is performing 5 to 10 community-based projects. Each project must involve more than 10 people. On April 4, Frank Sensei will be offering three self-defense classes, free of charge. The classes will be split up by age: 7 - 11, 12 - 16, 17+.We will also have belt testing, aikido demonstrations and our new demo team will perform with Grass Valley Taiko. Here is the tentative schedule:10:00 - 11:20 am Aikido Student Testing and Aikido Demonstrations12:00 - 1:15 pm Youth Self-Defense & Stranger Awareness Class, 7 - 11 year olds2:00 - 2:45 pm Grass Valley Taiko and Aikido'Ka demonstration3:15 - 4:30 pm Teen Self-Defense Class, 12 - 16 year olds4:40 - 5:00 pm Aikido'Ka Demonstrations6:30 - 8:30 pm Adult Self-Defense Class, 17 years old +Please make sure to check our website at JoinAikido.com to make sure you have the correct schedule!
